Losani Gives Back This Holiday Season

On December 11, 2009, Losani Homes held their annual Holiday BBQ inviting staff, trades, suppliers and associates to participate in their yearly theme of giving back to the community. Along with their very successful annual toy drive with donations going to Jamesville Community Centre & S.T.A.R. Hamilton, this year Losani Homes also held their first Turkey Drive with the proceeds benefitting Good Shepherd and Hamilton Food Share.

From Noon until 5:00 p.m., local trades and businesses entered the festively decorated workshop behind the Losani Homes head office and enjoyed homemade pasta made by company founder, John, and his wife, Maria Losani. But it was the generosity of these people that truly displayed the Holiday spirit – with associates of Losani Homes bringing bagfuls of toys and donating $19,100 for turkeys to feed families who are less fortunate this holiday season. Losani Homes made a promise – they would match whatever was raised that day! Another $19,100 was added to the total and by the end of the day Losani Homes had raised $38,200 – enough to buy 1,528 turkeys!

Losani Homes’ President, Lino Losani, John Losani and the employees of Losani Homes, presented Cathy Wellwood of Good Shepherd with a cheque for $12,500 and Joanne Santucci of Hamilton Food Share with a cheque for $25,700. “Thank you to Losani Homes and their associates for holding this Turkey drive – this donation will go a long way towards meeting our goal of helping families in need this Holiday season,” Ms. Wellwood addressed the Losani employees at a small ceremony held at the Losani Head Office.

Each year Losani Homes makes it part of their mission to build better communities by giving back to the community though raising money for various charities such as City Kidz, Hamilton Health Sciences, Mac Kids, local children’s sports, school music and lunch programs and more. In 2006 and 2008, Fred Losani, CEO of Losani Homes, traveled to the North and South Pole respectively raising over $1 million for a variety of children’s charities.
